System Requirements
eReserve and RapidPrint™ are able to be setup to run as a hosted website, or can be deployed on your network across a wide variety of platforms, operating systems, network configurations and even campuses.
eReserve and RapidPrint are stand alone web applications that do not require clunky desktop software to be installed and maintained and can be setup to be integrated with your authentication system, intranet or other webservices as needed.
In order to setup eReserve to run the on your webserver infrastructure, you will need at least the following configuration:
- A Web Server with PHP5 installed
- Zend Optimiser (http://www.zend.com) installed on the hosting web server[s]
- A database server running Oracle or MySQL.
Optionally, you may also want the following:
- GhostScript (used by RapidPrint™) for counting pages in submitted PDF files
- Perl (used by the Print Polling Server) for generating a PostScript banner page (used by RapidPrint™)
- LPR (used by the RapidPrint Polling Server) for sending print jobs to the nominated print queue
- Most professional printers can be accommodated and used by RapidPrint™ - please advise us of your printer preferences prior to purchase and we can advise the most compatible options.
